Introducing food is an exciting time in  baby’s development, and great news for parents. The baby moves from the exclusive phase of breast milk or formula to the inclusion of a world of new flavors and textures.

This phase usually begins around 6 months of age.

We know that during this process, many parents are unsure and have many doubts about what to offer their little ones.

Recipes for babies from 6 months

1. Quinoa Porridge With Banana

Ingredients:

  • 1 sliced ​​silver banana;
  • 1/2 cup of quinoa flakes;
  • A pinch of cinnamon;
  • 1/2 cup of water.

Preparation Mode:
Among the recipes for babies, this is one of the most nutritious and delicious.

To start, in a pan, place the banana along with the cinnamon, and place on low heat. Add a little water to moisten the bottom of the pan so as not to burn the banana.

When it softens, knead it with a fork. Then, add the quinoa and mix well. Wait for it to cool and serve it to your baby.

2. Beef Porridge With Lentils

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of lentils (200g);
  • 2 medium seedless tomatoes, chopped (165g);
  • 1 medium potato (150g);
  • 1 piece of beef muscle (120g);
  • 1 small chopped onion (60g);
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped (50g);
  • 1 stalk of chopped leek (only the white part) (50g);
  • 20 finely chopped spinach leaves (33g);
  • 5 liters of water.

Preparation Mode:
To make this recipe you will need a pressure cooker. In it, place the piece of beef muscle and water.

After closing the pan, heat over high heat until it boils. Then lower the heat and cook for another 20 minutes. Let the pan lose pressure naturally.

Open the pan and add the carrot, leek, onion, potato, tomatoes and lentils. Close and put it back on high heat. Once it boils, lower the heat and let it cook for another 25 minutes.

Let the pan release pressure naturally. Open the pan, add the spinach leaves, and stir until they wilt.

Then, remove the muscle and cut with a serrated knife until it is finely chopped. Place the meat back in the pan and stir until combined. Lastly, mash with a fork and serve.

3. Beef With Beans and Vegetables

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of black beans cooked with broth;
  • 2 tablespoons of cooked rice;
  • 2 tablespoons of ground meat;
  • 1 small cassava;
  • ½ small beet;
  • 1 tablespoon (dessert) of extra virgin olive oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of onion.

Preparation Mode:
After preparing the beans and rice as you normally do, peel the beetroot and cassava, and cut them into small cubes. Then, sauté the onion and ground meat in olive oil.

Add the beetroot and cassava cubes, and pour over a cup of water. Let it cook over low heat until it is very soft.

When serving, place rice, beans and meat with vegetables on the plate. Mash everything with a fork, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and serve to the little one.

4. Recipes for babies from 8 months onwards

Lentil Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of tea lentil;
  • 1 tomato without chopped skin;
  • 1 onion chopped;
  • 2 teeth garlic chopped;
  • 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil;
  • 1 unit of bay leaf;
  • 1 liter of water.

Preparation Mode:
Let soak the lentils for 12 hours. Add the olive oil and onion to a medium pan over low heat to sauté. Add the garlic and bay leaf, and stir for 1 minute.

Add the water and lentils, mix well and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes until it starts to boil. Then lower the heat, add the chopped tomato and partially cover the pan.

Next, cook for another 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are soft and the broth is slightly thickened. Turn off the heat, remove the bay leaf and serve it to your baby.

5. Meat Porridge With Beans and Vegetables

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of ground meat;
  • 2 tablespoons of bean cooked with broth;
  • 2 tablespoons of cassava, chopped into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon of onion chopped;
  • 1 tooth garlic chopped;
  • 1 tablespoon (dessert) of extra virgin olive oil.

Preparation Mode:
In a pan, heat the oil and sauté half the onion and garlic. Then, add the ground meat. Cover with water, cover the pan and cook until the meat is very tender.

Immediately, peel the cassava, cut it into small cubes and steam it. When serving, place the cooked beans, cassava and meat on the plate.

6. Corn Cream

Ingredients

  • 3 ears of corn;
  • 100g chicken fillet in small cubes;
  • ½ zucchini in small cubes;
  • ½ grated carrot;
  • ½ clove of chopped garlic;
  • ½ chopped onion;
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil;
  • 1 cup of filtered water.

Preparation Mode:
First,retire cook the corn kernels carefully, avoiding cutting the cob along with the kernels. Then, blend in a blender with half the water and set aside.

Place the oil in a pan and let it heat up. Sauté the onion and garlic until they soften.

Add the carrot and zucchini, and sauté for two minutes. Then, add the chicken and stir to sauté all sides of the meat. Add the rest of the water, lower the heat and let it cook.

Meanwhile, you can pass the corn through a sieve, squeezing the grain mass well to release all the juice. Once the water in the pan is almost dry, add the corn juice and rosemary.

Stir well until it thickens and serve it to your baby.

7. Guacamole for Babies

Ingredients:

  • ½ carrot;
  • ½ nipple;
  • ½ avocado;
  • ½ peeled tomato;
  • ½ cup of parsley;
  • ½ lemon;
  • 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil.

Preparation Mode:
This is certainly one of the tastiest recipes for babies! Start by cutting the carrots, chayote and tomatoes into approximately 1 cm cubes. Then, steam them until they are soft and set aside.

In a container, mash the avocado with a fork and squeeze the lemon. Wait for the vegetables to cool and mix them with the avocado.

Finish with chopped parsley and olive oil. It must be kept in the refrigerator to be served cold.

8. Sesame and Flaxseed Waffle

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs (sift the yolk);
  • 1 cup (tea) of sour cassava starch;
  • 1/3 cup (tea) of extra virgin olive oil;
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame;
  • 1 tablespoon of flaxseed flour;
  • 3 tablespoons of water;
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Preparation Mode:
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients well with a spoon, until you get a creamy dough. Spread it in the waffle maker and wait for the machine to prepare.

It can be served with fruits, jams or your favorite filling.

Recipes for Babies From 12 Months

9. Gnocchi Of Beetroot

Ingredients:

  • 4 units of beets cooked;
  • 1 cup of tea organic oat flour;
  • 1 tablespoon of amaranth;
  • 1 tooth garlic;
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil;
  • Salt to taste.

Preparation Mode:
To start the recipe, knead steam the beets using a fork until puree and set aside. In a pan, sauté the finely chopped garlic clove in olive oil. Place the beetroot puree, the amaranth and season with salt.

Gradually add the oat flour until it thickens. Cook for approximately 5 minutes.

Remembering that the dough must be smooth, homogeneous and without sticking to your hands.

Then remove from heat, wait to cool before handling. On a sanitized and floured countertop, and roll into strips about 2 cm thick, cut with a knife or spatula to form gnocchi.

Finally, place the gnocchi to cook in a pan with plenty of boiling water. When the pasta rises, remove it from the water, wait for it to dry, place it on a plate along with the sauce of your choice.

10. Yakissoba Kids

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken breast fillet;
  • ½ cup broken spaghetti pasta;
  • 3 tablespoons zucchini;
  • 3 tablespoons carrot;
  • 3 tablespoons chayote;
  • 3 tablespoons of broccoli;
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped onion;
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley;
  • 1 tablespoon (dessert) of extra virgin olive oil;
  • ½ cup of warm water;
  • Salt to taste.

Preparation Mode:
The first step is to cook the pasta in boiling water. Then, chop the carrot, zucchini, chayote and broccoli, and steam them.

In a pan, sauté the onion in olive oil until softened. Add the chicken breast and sauté until both sides are sealed.

Then, chop the chicken into very small cubes and return to the pan. Add the water and lower the heat.

Cook the chicken until it is very tender. Then, drain the pasta and chop into small pieces. Finally, add the vegetables, chicken and pasta to the same frying pan used previously.

Mix well just to heat through. Add the parsley and serve.
